Mrs. Vanita Walters also known as “Vannie” was known to many for her generosity and love for people. Many would have also known her as a business woman. She along with her husband were owners of the Hilltop Restaurant and Guest House. In 2021, she was recognized and awarded with a plaque for Community Service during a ceremony on the occasion of St. Kitts and Nevis’ 38th anniversary of Independence.
Here at VON Radio, she was a staunch supporter of the station. Over the years, Vannie has played an important role in sharing words of compassion and contributing gift packages to each member of staff. Her name would have been often heard throughout VON Radio’s Birthday Greeting Show as she coined the phrase by wishing persons ‘long-life and happiness’. Sadly she passed away on Tuesday, April 25th, 2023.

Vannie was laid to rest (today) Monday, May 15th, 2023 at the St. George’s Anglican Church in Gingerland. The burial took take place at the church’s cemetery.
