On November 14th 2025, nations around the globe, recognized World Diabetes Day to raise awareness about a “silent threat” affecting millions: diabetes. The date is the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who co-discovered insulin along with Charles Best in 1922.
According to the International Diabetes Federation 11.1% – or 1 in 9 – of the adult population (20-79 years) is living with diabetes, with over 4 in 10 unaware that they have the condition.
Classic warning signs of diabetes can include frequent urination, excessive thirst, unexplained weight loss, blurred vision, and increased hunger.
