St. Kitts and Nevis will join the rest of the world in celebration of World Water Day on March 22nd 2021.
According to unwater .org, World Water Day is about taking action to tackle the water crisis. 2.2 billion people use a source of drinking water contaminated with faeces, putting them at risk of contracting diseases cholera, dysentery, typhoid and polio. In St. Kitts, the Water Services Department has organized a week of activities in commemoration of the day.
Speaking on the “Working for You” program on Wednesday Mar. 17th, Hydrogeologist and Acting Water Engineer at the Water Services Department (WSD), Mr. Cromwell Williams, elaborated on some of the activities the Department will host in celebration of World Water Day.
