“We Champion for Champions” initiative to be highlight of Social Work Day

In celebration of Social Work Day, the Ministry of Social Development- Family Services in collaboration with the Probation Unit will hold its “We Champion For Champions – A Celebration of Schools” Initiative.

The campaign encourages persons to dress in colors representing the primary schools across the island according to the scheduled day.

According to a representative from the ministry, the idea was generated in an effort to support the schools and athletes across the island as they prepare to participate in the Gulf Insurance/ BONI Inter Primary Championship. The ministry is also seeking the participation of the public to encourage the children as they gear up for one of the most anticipated sporting events on Nevis.

The initiative will run in the order of the schools’ placement in the championship last year, which started on Tuesday with baby blue for Maude Crosse Preparatory, pink on March 20th for Nevis Academy, blue on the 21st for VOJN, maroon on March 22nd for Ivor Walters, yellow on March 25th for Elizabeth Pemberton, red on the 26th for St. James, purple on the 27th for Jocelyn Liburd, green on the 28th for St. Thomas’ Primary and orange on April 2nd, for the Charlestown Primary School. Persons are then encouraged to wear the color of the school they support on the day of the championship, April 3rd.
