Two more earthquakes were recorded near St. Kitts & Nevis, following Friday’s quake which had a magnitude of 3.8.
Based on information from the UWI-SRC (University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre), the first of the two occurred on Saturday evening at 8:32 with a 3.7 magnitude. It was located at Latitude 18.77 degrees N, Longitude 63.64 degrees W, at a depth 61 km.
It occurred 192 km, NW of Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis. Other nearby cities included: 229 km, ENE Fajardo, Puerto Rico and 248 km, ENE, Río Grande, Puerto Rico.
Then about 9 hours later, a quake with a magnitude of 4.4 took place on Sunday Apr. 28th, at 5:58am, located Latitude 18.77 degrees N, Longitude: 63.38 degrees W, at a depth of 10 km. UWI said it was recorded to have occurred 178 km, NW of Basseterre, St. Kitts.
