What you should know about landslides – Multi-hazard Campaign by NDMD
The Nevis Disaster Management Department (NDMD) continues with its work of sensitizing the public on disaster preparedness with its Multi Hazard Campaign, focusing on a different hazard that can affect St. Kitts and Nevis each month.
Landslide was February’s focus, in which masses of rocks, earth and other debris can quickly move down a slope that can be caused by rainfall, earthquakes or human activities.

Additionally, after a landslide, persons should keep away from landslide areas, report dangling and loose wires, always text except in life threatening situations to keep phone lines free, as well as adhere to the instructions of safety officials.
