Given the financial constraints caused by the long closure of the Federation’s borders, will St. Kitts and Nevis have Discounted VAT (Value Added Tax) Rate day(s) this year? 

A caller posed this question to Prime Minister – Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris during Tuesday’s “Leadership Matters” program.

The Cabinet of St. Kitts and Nevis is expected to begin discussions shortly on the Discounted VAT Rate period for 2020.

A discounted rate from the 17 percent VAT is typically offered in December to boost consumer spending during the Christmas and Carnival season.
