Women once again able to be apart of Unemployment Registry

The Department of Gender Affairs on Nevis in collaboration with the Department of Labour, SIS Inc. and the Chamber of Industry & Commerce relaunched the Women’s Unemployment Registry on August 1st, 2023.

 

 

 

Those present at the proceedings included Deputy Governor General, Her Honour – Mrs. Hyleeta Liburd, Minister of Health, Gender Affairs et.al, Hon. Jahnel Nisbett and Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Shelisa Martin Clarke.

 

 

 

According to Minister Nisbett, the program will offer tailored training assistance with resumés, interview preparation, workshops and mentorship to help women enhance their skills, boost their confidence and develop a strong professional network.

 

 

 

The initiative will also allow assistance in job searching including application and interview preparedness, assisting employers in male-dominated fields to appropriately achieve gender balance in the workplace and providing the Department of Gender Affairs with data to provide targeted programs and assistance.
