Work continues to enhance Mental Health Services in the Federation
The Ministries of Health of Saint Kitts and Nevis continue to work in advancing mental healthcare in the federation.
On Thursday July 18th, the first in a series of specialized mental health training modules was launched under the Mental Health Service System Enhancement Project with a focused session on schizophrenia, to enhance understanding of mental health disorders.
The session was facilitated by SEED instructors Sharon Morris, Natasha Mitchum, and McMillan Cuffy who previously received advanced training at the Taipei Veterans General Hospital in the Republic of China (Taiwan).
Along with guidance from visiting Taiwanese psychiatrists Dr. Cheng Chih-Ming and Dr. Jeng Jia-Shyun, they are empowering local clinicians to improve community-based mental health care and reduce dependency on hospital services.
