World Consumer Rights Day recognized in SKN

Each year on March 15th, is globally recognized as World Consumer Rights Day to bring attention to issues that impact consumers. This year’s theme was: “A Just Transition to Sustainable Lifestyles,” emphasizing the need for consumers, businesses, and others to switch to practices and materials that preserve the integrity of our planet.

 

This is Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Dr. Denzil Douglas:

 

 

He highlighted the work of entities that work to reduce pollution, by the recycling of plastics and other non-biodegradable materials, and the work of the Department of Environment on the banning of single use plastics by the end of November, 2025.

 

Dr. Douglas further emphasized the work of the Consumer Affairs Department of Saint Kitts and Nevis, on monitoring retailers and wholesalers:
