Coast Guard in St. Kitts responded to a distress call on the Atlantic side of the island (St. Kitts), on Wednesday evening September 20th.

A Coast Guard plane from Martinique also assisted in the search for the vessel. Reports coming out of St. Kitts indicate the vessel had Haitians onboard.

In an update, the Deputy Commissioner of Police told the VONNEWSLINE that a total of ten (10) persons, including a two (2)-year-old child, were rescued from the distressed vessel and taken into Police custody.
