“Education to Protect Tomorrow” is the 2022 theme for World Diabetes Day.
Diabetes is a disease in which the body’s ability to produce or respond to the hormone, insulin, is impaired, resulting in abnormal metabolism of carbohydrates and elevated levels of glucose in the blood and urine.
World Diabetes Day provides an opportunity to raise awareness of diabetes as a global public health issue and what needs to be done, collectively and individually, for better prevention, diagnosis and management of the condition, according to who.int.
