Owner and Manager of A-1 Farms in Gingerland, Nevis, Mr. Mc Levon “Mackie” Tross spoke about the prospect of Insurance for Farms during a presentation at the meeting of the Agriculture Department 2021 agenda.

To that end, he mentioned instituting a disaster relief fund for damages done to agriculture and fishing equipment due to extreme weather.

On Tuesday reports reaching the VONNEWSLINE revealed that extensive damage was done to the crops of a local farmer, in Westbury, here on Nevis.

Photos circulated on social media, show a number of banana trees destroyed on the farm.

The VONNEWSLINE contacted the Federal and local Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. Alexis Jeffers for comment but to no avail.
