St. Kitts and Nevis will join the rest of the world in celebrating World Food Day, founded by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in 1945 to bring awareness of hunger and food security.

According to fao.org, hundreds of events and outreach activities worldwide bring together governments, businesses, CSOs, the media, the public, even youth.

They promote awareness and action for those who suffer from hunger and for the need to ensure healthy diets for all, leaving no one behind.

Local minister of Agriculture fisheries et al., the Hon. Alexis Jeffers, issued an address in commemoration of the October 16^th observance and said:
