All nationals residing in Morocco “safe” says Prime Minister
Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew has confirmed that all nationals of the federation residing in Morrocco are “safe”.
This comes following the 6.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains on Friday, September 8th. In a Facebook post over the weekend, Prime Minister Drew said he had spoken with Ambassador for the Eastern Caribbean States to the Kingdom of Morocco, His Excellency Ian Queeley, who reported that “all of our people are safe”
Dr. Drew also expressed his condolences to the Government and People of the Kingdom of Morocco, specifically the families of the victims, for the loss of lives and devastation caused. The earthquake gravely affected the provinces of Al Haouz, Ouarzazate, Marrakech, Azilal, Chichaoua, and Taroudant.
