Police are currently investigating the Federation’s 23rd homicide for 2023, which occurred on Tuesday October 10th, at Craddock Road, Nevis.
Lawmen responded to the scene and found thirty- seven (37) – year – old Ibol Tyson of Low Street, Nevis, seated motionless in his car, having received reports of gunshots being heard in the above-mentioned area.
A press release says investigations indicate that Tyson was accosted by armed assailant(s) and shot multiple times while driving down Craddock Road around 8am. Mr. Tyson’s subsequent loss of vehicular control caused him to collide with a tree on the side of the road, bringing his vehicle to a stop.
He was pronounced dead on the scene. The Crime Scene Unit of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) examined the scene and collected some items of evidential value.
Among these items are one (1) firearm and one (1) magazine containing ten (10) rounds of 9mm ammunition. Premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley, said in light of the incident, “I am deeply saddened at the vicious act of violence in Craddock Road. I extend my deepest condolences. We must in our country find a way to live in peace. I call on all to assist the Police in bringing these criminals to justice.”
