A police communique says the incident occurred on Saturday Nov. 23rd and caused the death of Mrs. Jill Margery-Low of England, who also resided at Montpelier Hotel, Nevis.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the incident occurred between 2PM and 3PM. Mrs. Low, 73, was observed as being unresponsive in the water while snorkeling with her husband at Shitten Bay. They were transported to Frigate Bay via the St. Kitts – Nevis Defence Force Coast Guard vessel and Emergency Services were called.

Attempts were made to revive her; but were unsuccessful and she was pronounced deceased on the scene. The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force expressed condolences to all who have been negatively impacted.

An autopsy performed on Mrs. Low’s body on Monday Nov. 25th, revealed that the cause of death was drowning due to submersion into the seawater.
