No Kore Jouvert Long Jam Troup for Culturama 51

Kore Entertainment has announced there will be no Kore Jouvert Long Jam Troupe in its usual fashion for Culturama 2025.

According to Cory Tyson of Kore Entertainment on June 10th 2025, the decision was made “due to personal matters affecting himself and other key members of the Jouvert team”.

Mr. Tyson also stated that the aftermath of Culturama 50 was tough and “unfortunately, the “powers that be” haven’t made the road ahead any easier.” He went on to say that the organization is in active talks with this year’s Culturama Committee, hoping to secure a mutually beneficial agreement that would allow the Kore Band to do the Long Jam Route.

Following this, the Nevis Culturama Secretariat released a statement on June 11th, which said, quote “We recognize that the primary challenge preventing Kore’s full participation this year stems from personal reasons affecting key members of their team. We empathize with their situation and remain hopeful for their full return in the future.” End quote

It went on to say “However, we note with concern that a public statement regarding their withdrawal was issued prior to any formal discussions with the Culturama Committee. We believe that open dialogue should always be the first step, and as such, we stand ready to engage constructively with the Kore team toward an agreement that would be in the best interest of Culturama.”

The release then stated that the Kore Band had confirmed they will be performing on route.
