WASH Training Programme returns to Nevis for 4th year
Premier of Nevis, Hon. Mark Brantley as he spoke on the barriers being overcome with the help of the World Academy of Safety and Health (WASH).
Following the anniversary of the MV Christena Disaster where over 200 persons lost their lives in 1970, the Nevis Island Administration formed a collaboration between WASH to facilitate more nationals being trained and certified in water safety, with representatives making two annual visits to the island.
With 2025 being the fourth year of the initiative, the Premier spoke about the growth of the programme from a total of 9 to now over 200 persons.
It also provides training in First Aid, CPR, AED, lifeguard and water rescue to not only Nevisian residents but persons across the region:
