Eight individuals appointed members of National Productivity Council

The eight appointed members of the National Productivity Council were officially presented with their Instruments of Appointment and administered their Oaths of Office on Tuesday, July 8th.

 

 

The exercise was conducted by Her Excellency the Governor-General, Dame Marcella Liburd. The eight members are Sam Condor the intended Chairperson, Jeffrey Berry, Irvine Daniel, Farida Hobson, Kevin Barrett, Kevion Hodge-Huggins, Mark Wilkin, and Deshai Dore.

 

 

The National Productivity Council is tasked with assessing and addressing the factors influencing national productivity. Responsibilities include conducting in-depth analyses, formulating strategic recommendations, and designing and implementing training programmes aimed at improving workforce skills, efficiency, and overall national output.

 

 

The council is expected to play a key role in advancing sustainable economic growth. During the sitting of the national assembly on Thursday July 10th, Minister of Labour et.al Hon. Marsha Henderson had this to say:
