A moderate earthquake was recorded in the eastern Caribbean on the evening of August 11, 2025, according to data from the University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre (UWI SRC).
The event occurred at approximately 7:29 p.m. local time and registered a magnitude of 3.6. The earthquake was located at latitude 17.77 degrees north and longitude 62.25 degrees west, with a depth of 20 kilometers beneath the Earth’s surface.
The epicenter was situated about 75km northeast of Basseterre, the capital of Saint Kitts and Nevis. It was also located 85km northwest of Saint John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, and 108 kilometers north of Brades, Montserrat.
