PM Drew Calls for a “Transatlantic Bridge of Hope” Between Africa and the Caribbean
In an address at a high-level forum alongside African heads of state, the Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, the Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, made a call for deepened economic, cultural, and political ties between the African continent and its recognized sixth region of the Caribbean.
Speaking to a distinguished panel that included President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria and leaders of key continental institutions such as the African Union (AU) and the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), Prime Minister Drew framed the Caribbean’s presence as both symbolic and strategic.
Highlighting shared history rooted in the transatlantic slave trade, Dr. Drew proposed reframing that legacy.
