On October 2^nd, 2025, the late, Sir Edmund Wickham Lawrence, Former Governor General of Saint Kitts and Nevis, GCMG, OBE, CSM, JP, was laid to rest. The funeral service took place at the Wesley Methodist Church in Basseterre.

In addition to his family and friends, many dignitaries were present including Governor General, Dame Marcella Liburd, Deputy Governor General, Her Honour, Mrs. Hyleeta Liburd, Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, the Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, and Premier of Nevis and Leader of His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition, the Hon Mark Brantley.

Many tributes were done to reflect on Sir Edmund’s life as a family man, friend, distinguished economist, banker, and statesman.
