New Zealand High Commissioner Pays Courtesy Call on Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Denzil Douglas

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Her Excellenc, Linda Charlotte Te Puni, New Zealand’s High Commissioner to St. Kitts and Nevis, has paid a courtesy call on the Right Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

 

The meeting took place on October 3rd, following the presentation of her Letter of Introduction to Prime Minister, Dr. Terrance Drew.

 

During the engagement, Minister Douglas expressed gratitude to the Government of New Zealand for its continued efforts in strengthening ties with St. Kitts and Nevis. He noted that both countries are seeking to deepen and diversify cooperation in various areas.

 

High Commissioner Te Puni, who recently took up her post, reaffirmed New Zealand’s commitment to working closely with CARICOM and supporting Small Island Developing States on key issues such as renewable energy, climate-smart agriculture and disaster risk management.

 

Dr. Douglas also highlighted opportunities for collaboration in training, infrastructure development and tourism, noting that the discussions have laid the groundwork for stronger bilateral relations and mutual benefits.
