Romeo Browne of Hermitage Village, Cayon, St. Kitts, has been sentenced to six years in His Majesty’s Prison for possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition. The offences were committed on December 15^th, 2024 and Browne had previously pleaded guilty in June 2025. Time spent on remand will count toward his sentence and he is eligible for remission after serving two thirds of the term, subject to good behavior. The sentence was delivered by Justice Iain Morley KC at the High Court in Basseterre on October 7^th.

In a separate case, Victor St. Laurent, a Canadian national residing in St. Kitts, was convicted for trespassing and resisting arrest at the Royal St. Kitts Hotel on April 18^th, 2025. He was fined EC$1,000 for trespassing and EC$2,000 for resisting arrest, with payment due within 14 days or face one month in prison for each charge. The fines were handed down by Magistrate Rhonda Nisbett-Browne at the Basseterre Magistrate’s Court.
