SKI Academy Wins Elocution Competition in St. Kitts

The Ministry of Education in St. Kitts hosted its annual Primary Schools’ Independence Elocution Competition on Thursday, October 9, at the People’s Evangelical Centre.

 

The event showcased the remarkable oratory talents of young students from across St. Kitts.

 

Nine students presented “We’ve Come Thus Far,” a piece written by Nevisian author, Carmella Lawrence. Their performances were evaluated on clarity, expression, and stage presence.

 

Emerging victorious was Chezelle Maynard of SKI Academy, scoring 47.4 points. Second place went to Grayce Sturge of Dieppe Bay Primary with 45 points, while Kaliejah Anderson of Beach Allen Primary claimed third with 44 points.

 

Other participating schools included Cayon Primary, Deane Glasford Primary, Epworth Maurice Hiller Memorial, Joshua Obadiah Williams Primary, Newton Ground Primary, and St. Paul’s Primary.

 

Further, the 2024 edition of the competition was topped by the Seventh Day Adventist Primary School.
