Christmas Duty Free Allowances Announced for St. Kitts and Nevis
The Government of St. Kitts and Nevis has officially announced the launch of the annual Christmas Duty-Free Allowance Programme, giving citizens and residents the opportunity to save this festive season.
The initiative will run from December 1st, 2025 to January 31st, 2026 allowing non-commercial importers and travelers to benefit from reduced import costs on selected items during the busy Christmas period.
According to the announcement, gift packages of foodstuff weighing up to 400 pounds will be exempt from duties and taxes. In addition, non-commercial imports will enjoy a duty-free allowance of EC$675, equivalent to US$250, off the CIF value.
The Christmas duty free period is one of the most anticipated government initiatives each year, aimed at providing financial relief to households and encourages holiday shopping within the Federation.
Officials are reminding the public to shop responsibly and ensure all imported items qualify under the non-commercial category.
The duty-free programme, approved by the Ministry of Finance, continues to demonstrate the Government’s ongoing commitment to supporting families and boosting economic activity during the festive season according to a press release.
