The Nevis Bus Association has announced plans for a special island-wide initiative called “Dollar Day,” set to take place on Wednesday, October 29th, 2025.
On that day, passengers traveling on public buses across Nevis will pay just one dollar per trip throughout the day – a move the Association says is designed to promote the use of public transportation and give back to the commuting public.
Acting President of the Nevis Bus Association, Mr. Elmo Grant alias Bombo, says the initiative aims to not only provide some financial ease for passengers during these challenging economic times, but also to highlight the important role bus operators play in keeping Nevis moving. He had this to say:
Residents are being encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity by leaving their private vehicles at home and travelling by bus instead. However, passengers are reminded to carry the exact change, as the discounted fare applies only to the one-dollar coin. Any use of paper money will require payment of the full regular fare.
