This Sunday, November 9th, 2025, will be observed as the National Day of Remembrance – a time to honour those who served and lost their lives in the First and Second World Wars.

An annual service will be held at the War Memorial in Charlestown, starting at 8 a.m. The ceremony will open with a two-minute moment of silence, marked by the firing of a gun.

Residents across the island are encouraged to take part in this act of remembrance, whether at the service or from wherever they are by pausing and observing the silence.

Drivers are also reminded to stop all traffic during that time.
