A fatal traffic accident occurred along the Island Main Road at Almond Walk/Belle Vue, St. Kitts on Tuesday evening, Nov. 25th.
Police say it occurred at approximately 9 PM and the collision involved two motor pickups driven by Steve Taylor and Andre Patrick, respectively, both of Saddlers, St. Kitts.
Preliminary enquiries suggest that both vehicles were travelling west toward Belle Vue, with Mr Patrick’s ahead. As Mr Taylor’s pickup exited the corner entering Belle Vue from the Tabernacle direction, he collided with the rear of Mr Patrick’s pickup, resulting in him sustaining severe injuries.
Emergency Medical Services and Tabernacle Fire & Rescue Services responded to the scene, and Mr Taylor was transported to the Joseph N. France General Hospital. He was pronounced deceased upon arrival. Mr Patrick sustained minor injuries in the collision. Police continue their investigations into the matter.
This is now the Federation’s 7th road fatality. Following the autopsy on Mrs. Sherina Pemberton in October, who was initially, Nevis’ road fatality victim, it was determined that the injuries she sustained from the accident were not the primary cause of death and therefore, was not classified as a road fatality.
