An earthquake occurred near SKN on New Year’s day Thursday Jan. 1st 2026.
According to information from the UWI Seismic Research Centre (UWI SRC), it took place at 6:24am, with a magnitude of 3.8, located at Latitude: 18.82 degrees N, Longitude: 62.77 degrees W, at depth of 10 km.
It occurred 169 km N of Basseterre, Saint Kitts, 215 km NW of Saint John’s, Antigua and 233 km NNW of Brades, Montserrat.
No injuries were recorded during the quakes. Based on information from UWI, no one in SKN reported feeling Thursday’s quake.
This is also the first quake which occurred near SKN for 2026.
