Urology Associates is once again urging all men on Nevis age 40 and up to prioritize their health through its annual prostate cancer screening, now expanded to include lung cancer screening. The event will take place on Saturday January 10th, at Malcolm Guishard Recreational Park beginning at 6:00 a.m.

The VON Newsline spoke with Dr. Dwayne Thwaites, Chairman of Urology Associates who shared that approximately 633 men were screened in 2025.

The men will also have the opportunity to get screened for lung cancer with special emphasis on those who exhibit concerning symptoms:

Dr. Dwayne Thwaites. There is no strict age cutoff for the lung screening, so persons below 40 who have concerns about their lung health are encouraged to visit. It is particularly recommended for smokers, vapers, and individuals exposed to fumes such as mechanics, bakers, or those around burning materials.

Also, Dr. Thwaites also encourages the men to wear appropriate pants and eliminate the hassle of belts to make the process easier.
