EU Ambassador Pays Courtesy Call on Foreign Affairs Minister

St. Kitts and Nevis has welcomed the newly appointed Ambassador of the European Union, Her Excellency, Fiona Ramsey, during a courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Right Honourable Denzil Douglas.

 

The meeting took place on January 14th in Basseterre, where Minister Douglas officially received the Ambassador and highlighted the long-standing and positive relationship between the Federation and the European Union.

 

Discussions focused on several key areas, including climate change, the transition to renewable energy, and the expansion of trade relations between St. Kitts and Nevis and Europe.

 

Minister Douglas reaffirmed the country’s commitment to open dialogue and continued cooperation with the European Union, as the Federation advances its goals under the Sustainable Island State agenda.

 

Ambassador Ramsey highlighted the importance of strong global partnerships and cooperation, particularly within the Caribbean region.

 

Both sides expressed confidence in strengthening ties and working together on shared development priorities moving forward.
