Police officer charged with misconduct in public office & fraudulent conversion

A man has been charged with the offences of Misconduct in Public Office and Fraudulent Conversion.

 

A police communique states Austin Douglas of Frigate Bay, St. Kitts, has been charged with the earlier mentioned offences.

Douglas is a police officer and has been on suspension since he was first arrested, a police spokesperson said. He was charged on Friday Feb. 27th, at the Tabernacle Police Station.

Misconduct in Public Office is the willful abuse or neglect of the power or responsibilities of the public office held.

 

Fraudulent Conversion is the act of using money or property that is not your own for illegal or dishonest purposes.
