The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has issued an Easter Weekend safety advisory, reminding the public to exercise heightened care and responsibility.

It comes as during the Easter weekend from Good Friday to Easter Monday, increased activity is expected across beaches, roadways, and public spaces.

The Police Force says “with traditionally breezy to windy conditions during this period, sea conditions may become unpredictable, and roads are expected to be busier than usual.”

Members of the public are therefore advised to: observe all speed limits, particularly in high-traffic and residential areas, refrain from driving under the influence of alcohol or any impairing substance and drive with due care, attention, and consideration for all road users.

The public is asked to secure personal property and valuables at all times, including vehicles, homes and personal belongings, exercise caution while sea-bathing, as tides and surf may be stronger than usual and maintain strict supervision of children at the beach and in public spaces.
