The Nevis Island Administration (NIA) says a major water sector project is moving forward, with efforts focused on improving water supply and reliability across the Federation.
Consultants for the SKN TransWater Project recently met with stakeholders on Nevis to provide updates and gather feedback as planning continues.
The initiative aims to modernize water systems by introducing more climate-resilient and efficient methods of delivery, while also reducing water loss.
Officials say the project comes at a critical time, as the Federation continues to face challenges such as declining rainfall, increased demand, and pressure on existing water resources.
Minister responsible for Water Services, Spencer Brand, says the project is essential to ensuring a stable and sustainable water supply for residents on Nevis.
The project is being led by the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre with funding from the Green Climate Fund.
