3.6 magnitude Earthquake occurs near St. Kitts

A 3.6 magnitude Earthquake occurred near Basseterre, St. Kitts, on Tuesday May 5th, according to information from the University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre (UWI-SRC).

 

UWI-SRC said it took place at 11:36am and was located Latitude: 18.19 degrees N, Longitude: 62.48 degrees W and struck at a depth of 10 km.

 

The quake occurred 103 km NNE of Basseterre, 138 km NW of Saint John’s, Antigua and Barbuda and 158 km NNW of Brades, Montserrat.

 

Prior to this, a 3.9 quake took place 124 NNW of Basseterre on Easter Sunday Apr. 5th.
