First Woman in 18 Years Named Constable of the Year

On Saturday May 16th, the 2026 Constable of the Year Ceremony on Nevis marked its 18th staging, bringing together senior government officials, police leadership and members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force to honour outstanding service within the Nevis Division.

 

Eight constables were recognized for exemplary performance across various units and stations. The awardees included Constable Randel Charles (Gingerland Police Station), Constable Kadeem Huggins (Beat and Patrol), Constable Willmoht Warner-Michel (Beat and Patrol), WPC Shaneke Clarke (Task Force Unit), Constable Kesheen Bissette (Traffic Department), Constable Colin Cupid (Criminal Investigation Department), Constable Mitch Morgan (Newcastle Police Station), and Constable Peterson Petit-Frere (Cotton Ground Police Station).

 

A historic highlight of the evening saw WPC Shaneke Clarke named Constable of the Year, becoming the first woman in 18 years to receive the top honour. Constable Mitch Morgan was named First Runner-Up, while Constable Kesheen Bissette placed Second Runner-Up.

 

The ceremony also featured the debut performance of the Nevis Police Steel Orchestra, adding a cultural dimension to the event. Officials praised the continued support of the Nevis Island Administration and commended its police leadership for sustaining the annual recognition programme, which celebrates professionalism, dedication, and public service.
