The voice of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) Chief Director of Policy and Financial Consumer Protection Regulator, Dr. Tracy Polius.
In an interview on VON Radio, Dr. Polius spoke on preparations for the launch of its Office of Financial Conduct (OFC) that will be effective in September this year. Further, the discussion centered on ECCB’s Supervisory Powers, Codes of Conduct and the Financial Dispute Resolution Commission.
But how will customers be able to contact the new office:
Dr. Polius said that the office was birthed mainly to provide fairness and transparency to all customers. A series of consultations were held in 2025, with a number of stakeholders across member countries, bankers associations, Ministries of Consumer Affairs, disability associations, consumer protection networks and more. Dr. Polius said that we are in a more technologically advanced world, where customers use online banking and must be protected from virtual scams and more. Further, she explained the process:
