SKN Executive Travel, the company which owns the Apple Syder fleet, has issued a statement following the disaster on June 29th, which saw one of its boats, sinking shortly after leaving the Basseterre Ferry Terminal, in St. Kitts.
They said on social media “we want to share an important update regarding an operational development involving one of our vessels, the Apple Syder Experience, during its scheduled transit from St. Kitts to Nevis…Soon after departing Basseterre, the vessel encountered difficulties. Thanks to a swift and orderly response, all passengers and crew members were safely transferred to assisting vessels.”
SKN Executive Travel added “we deeply care about the well-being of everyone who was on board and are incredibly grateful for their cooperation during the transfer. We extend our sincere gratitude to the local captains, crews, and maritime personnel who assisted in facilitating the transfer, as well as to our own crew for their professional and calm execution of our safety procedures.”
Also, on July 1st, the Apple Syder Management Team indicated it is reaching out to connect with passengers who travelled on June 29th.
They mentioned via Facebook “we kindly ask that if we haven’t spoken with you yet, please reach out to us as soon as you are able. A dedicated contact line was also provided 669-0707. If you know someone else who was on this journey with you, please share this message with them.”
