The Nevis Island Administration (NIA) held an official ground breaking ceremony for the Vance W. Amory International Airport expansion project on July 1st.
Project Manager, Mr. A. Micheal Perkins, mentioned during the ceremony that it is expected to be completed within 18 months.
It is anticipated that the project will commence in August 2026. The near US $40m project is funded by the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and has received private funding.
The expansion will include major land-side improvements to the terminal building, fire hall and control tower, along with air-side upgrades to the runway, lighting systems and jet fuel farm.
