That was the voice of Hon. Jahnel Nisbett, Minister of Health on Nevis announcing the 2026 recipients of the Medical University of the Americas (MUA) and Nevis Island Administration (NIA) Scholarship.

While commenting on the low number of applications received for the scholarship, Minster Nisbett made some clarifications about the tertiary education opportunity:

Nisbett went on to explain that the MUA-NIA Scholarship “is a particularly impressive scholarship in that you have freedom of choice in where you can study, what country, and so it covers your room and board, tuition, and a whole host of other areas.”

Moreover, on completion of their studies, both scholarship awardees are expected to return home and contribute to national development.
