The St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF) has relinquished the duties of one of its private defence soldiers.

According to a release dated July 16^th 2026, Private Cordel Lake received a dishonourable discharge from the force with service no longer required.

The action follows a serious incident that occurred on Monday, March 30^th, 2026.

The release states that in accordance with military law and disciplinary protocols, a thorough investigation was conducted where Private Lake was charged and tried under the St. Christopher and Nevis Defence Force Act, Cap. 19.14 as amended on December 31^st, 2017.

The charges are Conduct Prejudicial to Military Discipline and Disgraceful Conduct.

Following a summary trial and based on overwhelming evidence, Private Lake was found guilty of both charges.

The release also shared that “the defence force maintains a zero-tolerance policy for conduct that endangers the safety, discipline and integrity of the force and remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, accountability and care for all personnel”.
