Private Cordel Lake discharged from St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force for Disgraceful Conduct

The St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF) has relinquished the duties of one of its private defence soldiers.

 

According to a release dated July 16th 2026, Private Cordel Lake received a dishonourable discharge from the force with service no longer required.

 

The action follows a serious incident that occurred on Monday, March 30th, 2026.

 

The release states that in accordance with military law and disciplinary protocols, a thorough investigation was conducted where Private Lake was charged and tried under the St. Christopher and Nevis Defence Force Act, Cap. 19.14 as amended on December 31st, 2017.

 

The charges are Conduct Prejudicial to Military Discipline and Disgraceful Conduct.

 

Following a summary trial and based on overwhelming evidence, Private Lake was found guilty of both charges.

 

The release also shared that “the defence force maintains a zero-tolerance policy for conduct that endangers the safety, discipline and integrity of the force and remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, accountability and care for all personnel”.
