In partnership with CARICOM IMPACS, the Royal St. Christopher & Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) is warning the public about speeding violation text scams.

These are fraudulent messages pretending to be an official traffic ticket or court notice, meant to steal your money and personal data.

If you receive an unsolicited text message claiming you have an outstanding traffic violation and directing you to click a link to pay: do not click it. Do not pay. Do not reply.

This is a known phishing scam designed to steal your personal and financial information. Phishing is a type of cybercrime where attackers trick people into sending personal information.

According to a press release, the Traffic Department does not issue fine notifications via SMS with payment links. The police is appealing to all to verify before you pay and think before you click.
