She shared those comments in an address issued on Monday, August 31^st, 2026. It comes on the heels of Mrs. Grey-Brookes’ resignation as Leader of the People’s Action Movement (PAM) on Friday, July 31^st, 2026.

Mrs. Brookes became the party’s first female Political Leader in 2024 and was the first female leader of a political party in St. Kitts. Her remarks came a day before PAM elected its new Leader at a special Caucus which was held on Tuesday, September 1^st, 2026.
