The COVID-19 pandemic continues to ravage the globe but usually, around this time period of a new year (January-April), Influenza takes its precedence.  

Influenza (flu) is an acute and very contagious respiratory tract infection caused by influenza type A (H1N1 & H3N2) and type B viruses.

The influenza virus causes mild to very severe illness and at times, can lead to death.  

With this in mind, the Federation’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr. Hazel Laws has sought to allay some fears, regarding both the COVID-19 and Flu Influenza:
