Autopsies performed on SKN’s 7th and 8th homicide victims for 2024

Post-mortem examinations (autopsies) were conducted on the bodies of SKN’s 7th and 8th homicide victims for 2024, on April 12th. Alex Harris of Challengers Village, St. Kitts, 33, was found by lawmen sitting motionless in a chair. Initial investigations indicate that Mr. Harris had been shot by a single armed assailant. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

 

 

 

The incident is said to have occurred between the hours of 11:30PM on Saturday April 6th, and 12AM on Sunday April 7th, at the Basseterre Bus and Ferry Terminal. This was SKN’s 7th homicide for 2024. The autopsy revealed that the cause of death was traumatic, the complete section of the brain stem due to a gunshot wound to the head.

 

 

 

Then, 37-year-old Rashiel James of Middle Island, St. Kitts, was gunned down on Sunday Apr. 7th. Lawmen said the incident occurred at a bar on Main Street in Parson’s Village, between 1:30AM and 2:30AM. Police officers observed Mr. James laying motionless on the ground. A single masked and armed assailant entered the establishment and opened fire. Mr. James and Leshawn Hazel of Main Street, Dieppe Bay, 30, both sustained injuries during the attack.

 

 

 

Mr. Hazel was struck in one of his legs and was subsequently warded at the JNF Hospital in St. Kitts. Mr. James succumbed to his injuries at the scene. These took SKN’s murder toll to 8 for 2024. Thus far, SKN’s murder toll stands at 9 for the year.

 

 

 

The autopsy revealed that the cause of death was severe Cranio-encephalic trauma due to a gunshot wound to the head.
