That was the voice of Gender Officer, Catherine Forbes, speaking on the initiative: “Cultivating Backyard Gardening Workshop”.
That is a collaboration between the Department of Gender Affairs and Ministry of Agriculture on Nevis where they will facilitate the 20 registrants of the workshop on containerize gardening techniques, repurposing of garden material and inexpensive gardening techniques to promote sustainability in home gardening practices and biodiversity.
The workshop is completely free and will take place on February 17th and 18th from 4:15p.m. to 6:00p.m. at the Agricultural Department in Nevis.
Ms. Forbes also informed the VON Newsline of the department’s intention to hold a similar project for interested individuals later in 2025.
