MOE on Nevis receives donation from Government of Taiwan

The Ministry of Education (MOE) here on Nevis recently received a donation from the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) of USD $15,000.00 for the ministry’s STEM education initiative.

 

 

 

This comes as the entity continues to make plans for its STEM Week scheduled to take place from May 22nd to May 26th and one of its main activities, a STEM Expo on May 26th at the Malcolm Guishard Recreational Park. The expo will feature work done by students on the STEM program as well as businesses which align with the group.

 

 

 

Present at the official handing over of the donation was Resident Ambassador of the Embassy of Republic of China (Taiwan), Michael Lin, who made the presentation and Minister of Education, et.al, Hon. Troy Liburd received the cheque. Also present was Permanent Secretary, Mr. Kevin Barrett, Principal Education Officer, Ms. Zahnela Claxton and Education Officer responsible for STEM, Mr. John Williams
