CEMSS holds Victory Assembly after TDC Inter-High School Championship win

On Wednesday, March 29th, the Charles E. Mills Secondary School (CEMSS) held a Victory Assembly in honour their 27th win at the 42nd annual TDC Inter-High School Championship.

 

 

 

School staff, coaches, athletes and students were joined by public officials and school associates to celebrate their achievement.

 

 

 

Public officials in attendance of the assembly included: the Deputy Prime Minister – Hon. Dr. Geoffery Hanley, Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas, Hon. Samal Duggins and area representative for Constituency #5 (Sandy Point) in St. Kitts – the Hon. Shawn Richards.

 

 

 

Under its sponsor, the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank, the athletes of the CEMSS Eagles amassed a total of 62 points overall after taking home: 34 gold, 17 silver and 11 bronze medals in the meet.

 

 

 

In commenting on the school’s recent win, Minister Duggins was quoted as saying “this institution has emerged winners some 27 times and has produced some of our nation’s finest athletes. This astounding feat is something our entire Federation should be proud of.”

 

 

 

Meanwhile, Dr. Douglas in extending his congratulatory remarks was quoted as saying: “the CEMSS has won the championship 7 Times consecutively. Students of my own Constituency, year after year contribute to the Success of CEMSS home of the EAGLES”.
